The Drake Hotel, located at 140 East Walton Place, marks the beginning of Chicago’s famous “Magnificent Mile.” This luxurious hotel was built in 1920 and is frequented by many celebrities and politicians. Within walking distance are The John Hancock Center, Water Tower, Oak Street Beach and Rush Street with its fabulous night life.

The upscale Amalfi Hotel Chicago is another great place to stay. The Amalfi is the newest Hotel to adorn Chicago River North District. Designed with the business traveler in mind, the Amalfi offers a complimentary continental breakfast, cocktail hour and Internet access.

According to several sources, the number one place to stay in Chicago is the Hotel Burnam located about a mile from The Magnificent Mile at 1 W. Washington. Pets are welcome and grooming and dog walking services are offered. The Hotel Burnam also offers a “pillow library” where guests can choose from up to ten pillows for their sleeping comfort.
